Note Layout Generator

This tool will generate the note layout for a Richter tuned ten hole diatonic harmonica. Simply select the key from the select list on the left end of the comb. Three types of notes are shown in the table.

Natural - Notes occuring naturally on the harmonica by either blowing or drawing air through the specified hole.
Bent - Achieved by bending the natural note.
Overblow - Requires the use of an advanced technique called an overblow.

This feature uses Dynamic HTML (DHTML) and has been developed/tested using the following browsers:

Netscape Navigator 6.2.2
Microsoft Internet Explorer (MSIE) 6.0.2600
Mozilla 0.9.2.1

It should also work with MSIE 4.x and 5.x, however, I have not test these earlier versions of MSIE. If you are using an older browser that does not support DHTML you can use the following server side script. Simply select the harmonica key and click the submit button.

Position Calculator

Select the key of a song then select the position you want to play in and the correct harp key will be calculated. Or select the key of a song and the key of the harmonica you have and the position you need to play in will be calculated. The position is determined using the circle of fifths.
